Server News 2024-05-08

Hello dear Adventurers,

I wanted to address some quick news, without overflooding you again.

First, a lot of houses have IDOC'ed. Despite I have enabled no decay option on houses, a lot of houses from former players vanished. Hopefully you could grab some of that Saint Graal from the past. Looking at this into more details, it is obvious that server core upgrade did that. So no worries for your current and active houses : they won't vanish. They will refresh. There is no need to pay taxes or anything. If you own extra houses, besides the 1st house of each of your accounts : MAKE SURE TO REFRESH them. So you are allowed 3 houses per account. House 1 is safe. House 2 and House 3 should be refreshed. This is from the documentation and forums on ServUO. I will find a way so it's "as it used to be" before server core upgrade. Over the year, ServUO tended to stick to newer OSI content and features, forgetting a little custom Shards and older eras. No problems though. Everything can be solve (and will be published on our JustUO.com website).

I still have a lot to fix since I upgraded our Core version. More or less everything about crafting is broken. I'm making a bigger patch to solve everything in one time. It'll still take several days. Combat seems pretty okay and the wholle currency/rewards system is now live and clear for everyone.

Known bugs left so far : 

  • token armor from VNC Vendors can't be repaired
  • wood crafting bug
  • BOD Key
  • BOB filter
  • Runic Tools
  • Runic Key
  • BOD Rewards
  • Commodity deeds have wrong text
  • Old powerscrolls have negative values
  • Mercenaries can't Tithe and use Chivalry anymore

I should still gather other bug reports from the forum and pages in game. If you encounter other issues, don't hesitate to page in game or report on the forum. The more I know, the more I can solve. I'd always be happy for a chat in game.

I'm currently finishing last 6 invasions and then I'll put in place an event area for the Summer Festival. Each year, we will have Festival split into 4 seasonal events : Summer, Harvest, Yule and Spring Festivals. We used to have much more of them running (St Patrick, St Valentine e.g.) but it was becoming a bit too overwhelming both for staff and players. Too many currencies, too many rewards and also A LOT of decoration/items/statics for server load, which was a bit too much in the past (over a million items in game). Let's stay simple : 4 seasons, 4 events.

Have fun and hopefully crafting gets alright very soon, because I'm eager to tweak it into the SWG-like version I have in mind since 2003 ... lol ;-)
